Hi there!
Lucky you, you found a Grounded bookmark and came to visit!
Welcome!
This is the site for all things having to do with Rosie, her psychic Seven, the Grounded series, and me—Heather Ordover.
There are many hats I wear beyond that of a young adult novelist. I write other things, talk about other things, and make other things too.
Take a look:

Knit Doodley!
I’ve been compiling research on the effects of things like knitting and doodling on the brain—because there finally is research! I’ve blogged about it at Cognitive Anchoring and am traveling around speaking and sharing the good news all over the place. If you have a local yarn store, a fiber arts guild, or a local bookstore that would be interested in hosting such a talk, please get in touch. I have a projector and I travel. And if you want to know when the book is coming out officially, enter your email here and we’ll ping you.
Defarge Sightings in the Wild:
Don’t want to miss an event?
Enter your email here to be kept abreast of all the Grounded goings on, and here for Defarge knitting books‘ pre-release information (freebies!), and here to keep up with CraftLit appearances and news.
If you can’t make it to an event but would still like a signed copy of Grounded or any of the Defarge pattern books, please follow this link to our Shop. Be sure to leave a note detailing how you would like the book inscribed.
When we’re a little closer to the launch date I’ll add instructions on this page detailing how to pre-order a copy or a signed copy of the next book in the Grounded series—Shattered—and the next Defarge Book—Defarge Does Shakespeare (or, a Madame and a Bard Walk Into a Bar…).
In the meantime, you can listen to updates and Audiobooks with Benefits™ every week at the CraftLit® podcast, and follow my MamaOKnits blog, or get in touch at
Thank you so much for visiting!
